About me

My name is Victoria Okoka W’ekanga, but I’m better known as Magic Vic.

I’m both an artist inspired by my designs and a graphic designer inspired by my art, based in Brussels. A TRUE enthusiast of expression in all its forms.

First, the Pencil

I’m originally from Charleroi, Belgium, where I grew up.

In those days, drawing was my greatest passion. Stepping away from the world around me to lose myself entirely in the most faithful reproduction of a photograph was, for me, a way to soothe and regulate my nervous system.

Through this practice, I gathered a wealth of technical knowledge that continues to actively nurture my artistic practice today.

Then, the Brush

I began painting in order to give voice to a silent dialogue within me that I felt slipping away.

Through painting, I entered a creative act more oriented toward the taming of my own psychic realm, toward introspection.

In a world where consumerism and technology distance human beings from their inner world, I wish, through sharing my art, to call for a return to the self.

Then came the mouse

I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, a journey through visual languages that allows me to give form to the worlds that inhabit my mind, and perhaps to yours as well.

Graphic design has become the natural extension of my creativity, a bridge between imagination and matter, offering me the means to place this creative force in service of others.
